Who is Mehmet Erkan?

His life, stories,..

Mehmet Erkan was born in Samsun in 1981. In 1998 he graduated from Samsun Namık Kemal High School and in 2003 he graduated from Ege University in International Relations.

In university he started to write his literary works and he received an award from The Institute Of Turkish Literature for the story "Bekir Bey" in 2002. In 2004 he received a second award from The Institute Of Turkish Literature for the story "Bir Bardak Hikayesi".

In 2002 his story appeared in "Zaman Kayması" a book published by Institute Of Turkish Literature and in 2004 his second story "Bir Bardak Hikayesi" appeared in "Ödüllü Hikayeler" a book by published by Institute Of Turkish Literature. The author's most recent award was the "Yaşar Nabi Nayır Story Award" in 2005. His first book to be published was "Bir Safın Öyküsü". It was published by Varlık Publication in October of 2005. The author's second book named "Recollections Of İnterviews,A Different View Of Human Resources"was published by Varlık Publication in August of 2007.

Mehmet Erkan has lived in İstanbul since October of 2004 and he is working as a Human Resources Specialist in a company. While working at this company, he is still continuing his writing and he is also writing for a journal named "Hece Öykü".
